Is it Okay to Give Milk to a Dog?

Be it the pet dogs or the street dogs, we naturally tend to feed them milk.  It is a common thought that milk will suffice for all their nutritional needs and will serve as a complete meal.

Here is a plot twist- most of the dogs are lactose intolerant and cannot digest milk. It can cause unpleasant reactions like diarrhea, vomiting, or loose stools. Naturally, you don’t want your dog to go through any of these.

Moreover, they don’t even need milk nutritionally. Even if you observe other mammals in their natural environment, no one drinks milk after the weaning period.  

Hence, it is best to avoid feeding any dairy product to your dog. Although things like curd and cheese are easily digestible, it is better to feed these also in moderation.
